An Aaron Rodgers (unpublished) Story

E-mail Print

Direct from Wisconsin, here is a story about Aaron Rodgers that you didn't see in the papers.

Apparently a friend has a friend who is a retired teacher and who is involved with the Boys & Girls Club.

Someone from the Packer organization called this guy at the Boys & Girls Club and told them to bring 75 kids from the Boys and Girls Club to the new bowling alley in Howard and they would get soda, pizza and free bowling.

They got a second call upping the amount of kids to 100.  When they all got there, there were about 15 Packers players there to visit and bowl with them.

When they were done, all the kids were each given $100 to go to Shopko for Christmas shopping, accompanied by the Packer players.

And it was all funded by Aaron Rodgers. There was no publicity, no television cameras. We are lucky to have him in Green Bay.

Great to hear these stories from the community itself. Aaron Rodgers has got to be commended for taking the initial skepticism of SOME Packers fans with a grain of salt, knowing that following Brett would come with that kind of baggage. He is a class act and a great QB (if we can keep him upright he could be in the SB sooner and more often than Brett) and I agree wholeheartedly that we are lucky to have him. I think if anything the organization has been remiss in being behind him in word and leaving his protection up to draftees for so long. I think the combination of young qb/veteran OL is a good one - glad to have Tausch and Cliffy back in the fold. I know that we have to replace them soon but I am glad some of these young guys will be able to develop more.
