Pea Soup for the Packer Heart

E-mail Print

Have you ever wanted to be in print?  Do you have a Packer story you want to share?  Well, here's your opportunity.

CHPH was contacted last week by an author from (where-the-hell-is) Neenah.  His name is Steve Rose.  He has written three books on the Pack titled Leap of Faith - God Must Be a Packer fan, forward written by Robert Brooks;   Leap of Faith 2 - God Loves Packer Fans, forward by Ken Ruettgers;  and Leap of Faith 3 - The Packer Hall of Faith with Reggie White on the cover.

Steve is writing another book titled Pea Soup for the Packer Heart - A Tribute to the World's Greatest Fans & Team! and he wants to include stories from CHPHers.  He's looking for positive, memorable moments or experiences you have had with the players, at Lambeau, etc.  You know, something like "the day I met....."

Mike Randall, a perfect story would be when you played golf with Ray Nitschke when his team didn't show up.  Or Tuna, how about when you met Troy Aikman and told him "you're no Brett Favre."  Amy Fritzer, how about when you had lunch with Brett in Green Bay and called him 'dude.'

You guys get the idea.  There has to be hundreds of great stories from CHPHers.

Guidelines:

No Brett bashing
500-1100 words (doc format)
Photos (jpeg format)

Sorry about the short notice (June 7th deadline).  My fault.  Steve wants to go to print on July 1st for a Sept. 1st release.

Did I mention that the Packers suggested Steve contact us?  Pretty cool, huh?   And, he's seriously considering coming to Houston for a book signing the weekend the Pack destroys the Cowgirls.   He's interested in gigs at both CHPH locations.

Start writing CHPHers and get those stories submitted so we can all say 'we knew you when.'

Aslo:  Steve sent autographed copies of his Leap of Faith series.  We have not read the books but perusal of each book is that they are pretty good with a common theme. Steve captures the "faith" of the players and how their faith kept them grounded and ultimately made them better players and men.  He exposes their good deeds and charitable works although many wanted to their works to remain anonymous because they felt they were 'giving back' with thanks.
