CHPH North is hosting their 2nd annual BBQ cookoff between Packer fans and Texans fans. When: Saturday, August 11th

Teams will be judged on brisket, chicken, and ribs. Presentation counts. Last year the Texans cooking team took the chicken and open entries, while the Packers won the brisket. By winning two of their entries, the Texans took home the trophy. This year we are hoping to get at least 4-5 Packer teams to enter. CHPH does not have a 'competition' cooking team, this is purely for bragging rights. If you're interested in entering a team or plan to attend, contact CHPHer David Hammes at 281-324-7194. |

 | Don and Andi Gorder have been members of the Cheddarhead Pack of Houston since 'day one.' In viewing the slideshow depicting snapshots of Don's life, it was hard to find -- indeed there were very few -- pictures when he was not wearing either Packers or Badgers gear. | A "Celebration of His Life" memorial service was held at St. John Lutheran Church on Thursday, July 7. This is a photo of the sideboard with the guestbook, some flowers, a picture on Don in his hospital Packer Gear, the Superbowl 45 trophy (no, not the real one) and a deck of cards (he will be missed by his Sheepshead playing buddies). |  |  | At Andi's request, in tribute to Don, members of CHPH engaged in our traditional "Who Are We?" cheer. Andi and their son David participated, with David leading the cheer. Don was a great guy who will be sorely missed... but rest assured that when the crowd at Lambeau Field is panned, we will see him sitting on the 50 yard line. GOD bless you Don, and thanks for everything. It was truly a pleasure to have known you. We will miss you. |

CHPH North has officially moved to a new location. Colburn's Bar and Nightclub, 5840 FM 1960 East, just .8 of a mile west of the 'old' Rum Runners location. Look for the Crossroads Plaza Shopping Center on the south side of 1960 and you will see Colburn's between Manuel's Mexican Restaurant and Dominoes Pizza. They have alrady been decorating the place and are looking forward to watching their first game there on 10/31 (vs NYJ). They have 2 big screen projector TV's (100"+) and will be adding more as the sseason progresses. This move should really help them grow! Thanks to the owner of Colburn's, and welcome to the Packer family!

The officers of CHPH North would like to personally THANK YOU, for a successful opening day at Rum Runners. We signed up roughly 76 returning members and 10 new members. There is no doubt in my mind that, that number will grow though out the season. Again THANK YOU! Also a big THANK YOU goes out to the officers and others that assisted in the planning and execution of our opening day activities. The additions to the food table are appreciated. Thank You to David and Debbie Hammes for our Green Bay Packer Table. It will serve well as our center piece for our "Who We's" as the season continues. David and Debbie also made a Texans table for our Texans fans. Both will serve the group well during the season. For those of you that do not know who the officers of CHPH North are, I have included a list of the officers for your benefit. Stop by and say hello during the games.
